Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can.
Polls
When you answer a poll we store your answer, the nation or region you chose, the time, a random identifier kept in a cookie (vk_vt) so the same browser cannot answer twice, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address that changes every day. We never store your IP address itself.
Corrections
If you send a correction we store your message and, if you give it, your email address so we can reply.
Security checks
If enabled, polls use Cloudflare Turnstile or hCaptcha to tell people from bots; those services have their own privacy policies.
Postcode search
If you search by postcode, our server looks it up at postcodes.io (open data from the Office for National Statistics). Your IP address is not sent to them; the postcode and its constituency are cached on our server for 30 days and are not linked to you.
Portraits
MP portraits are loaded from the UK Parliament Members API, which receives your browser’s request for the image.
